Tasha De Freitas’ practice focuses on intellectual property matters with an emphasis on the acquisition and protection of patents. In addition to a law degree, Tasha has an aerospace engineering degree from Carleton University.

Tasha advises clients on patentability, validity and infringement, conducts prior art searches, and is involved in patent drafting and patent prosecution. She also prepares various intellectual property agreements, including non-disclosure, licensing and service agreements. Tasha has in-depth knowledge in the areas of telecommunications, medical imaging, software, optics, aerospace, automotive and manufacturing systems. She works with a variety of clients, from sole inventors to multi-national companies, to develop and implement strategies for the protection of intellectual property in Canada, the United States and globally. Tasha is a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States.
