Flight Operations Manager
Michel Doyon is the Flight Operations Manager in the Satellite Operations, Infrastructures and applications directorate at the Canadian Space Agency. He joined the Canadian Space Agency in 1998 as a control systems engineer and occupied several functions within the Space Technology Sector namely as regards Space Technology Development. Since 2009, he manages satellites under the responsibility of the CSA (RADARSAT-1 until 2014, SCISAT, NEOSSAT) and has prepared for the operations of M3MSAT to be launched in 2016. He is responsible for Operations Development for the Radarsat Constellation Mission.  Michel has been involved in the Inter Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC) and represented Canada in the space debris mitigation measures Expert Group. He also contributes to the UNCOPUOS Working Group on the Long Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities as to space operations and space debris. Since 2012 his team has developed the Space Debris Centre’s Collision Risk Assessment and Mitigation System (CRAMS) for managing space debris alerts, assessing risk of collisions and providing advice to operators. CRAMS currently supports some 25 satellites (Canadian and foreign). Michel has an Electrical Engineering Degree from Laval University and a Masters Degree in Robotics from McGill University.
